Media Advisory: Experts Available: Post-election commentary

Wake Forest University professors can address a wide variety of post-election topics including:

Post-election bipartisanship—David Coates, Worrell Professor of Anglo-American Studies.  Coates can also address the election, the economy and the “fiscal cliff.”

Impact of Hispanic voters on the election—Kathy Smith, professor of politics and international affairs.  She can also discuss the role of surrogates, such as Bill Clinton and Bruce Springsteen, in the presidential race.

Effect of the national and N.C elections on businesses in North Carolina— Justin Catanoso, director of the journalism program and an expert on the N.C. economy.

Effect of Super PACs and the millions of dollars spent on political ads—Allan Louden, professor and chair of communication. He can also discuss the impact of the presidential debates on the outcome and analyze campaign messages/speeches.

Perspective of young voters—Several Wake Forest politics classes will be discussing the election this week.  To get the perspective of younger voters, media are invited to visit a class taught by Michael Pisapia, assistant professor of politics and international affairs, at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8.
