WFU Environmental Justice Summit brings key issues to forefront

Wake Forest University is preparing to welcome several national, state and local experts to campus for the 2024 Mellon Environmental and Epistemic Justice Summit. The full-day program will take place on April 24 from 9 a.m.-6:30 p.m. at the Broyhill Auditorium in Farrell Hall. The free event is open to the public. The goal of the program is to bring various perspectives together for a deeper understanding of environmental issues facing underrepresented communities, share ideas, help find solutions and inspire grassroots efforts.

Wake Forest Students Decorate Desks for Children

A Wake Forest University practice field will soon be transformed into an outdoor art studio to create personalized study spaces for kids. It’s part of an education initiative called Developing Education through Student Knowledge or DESK. This year’s event will be held on Thursday, April 11 from 3-6 p.m. on Davis Field.

N.C. universities partner on CROPS Project with $1M funding from the NSF

As North Carolina’s top economic driver, agriculture is practiced in every corner of the state.  But, most of the research and technological innovations that could benefit and grow the $103 billion industry are housed within companies and universities in more urban areas of the state.  

To address this gap in access, researchers at Wake Forest, along with nine other university, business, state agency, and research partners, have received a $1 million National Science Foundation (NSF) Regional Innovation Engines grant to develop a 42-county Agricultural Tech Innovation Corridor.
