On-campus shooting information

On Saturday, Jan. 20, Najee Ali Baker, a student at Winston-Salem State University, was shot during an altercation following a party on campus and later died as a result of his injuries. Wake Forest’s chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Inc. hosted the party held in the Barn, a venue for student-centered social events on the eastern side of campus. The Winston-Salem Police Department, in cooperation with Wake Forest and Winston-Salem State University Police Departments, is leading the active and ongoing investigation.
