McCreary gives $7.5 million to sports performance center

Ever since Bob McCreary (’61) came to Wake Forest in 1957 on a football scholarship, he has never forgotten the power of a transformative gift on a young student-athlete.
Now his $7.5 million gift in support of the Wake Forest Football program adds momentum to Wake Forest’s plans for a 95,000-square-foot sports performance center.

Surrounded by friends, family, fellow donors and members of the Wake Forest community, University Trustee Mary Farrell (P ’10) helped dedicate Farrell Hall, the new home for the Wake Forest School of Business. The ceremony marked the fulfillment of the dream she and her late husband, former Trustee Mike Farrell (P ’10, LLD ’13), began three years ago with a $10 million leadership gift.
