N.C. universities partner on CROPS Project with $1M funding from the NSF

As North Carolina’s top economic driver, agriculture is practiced in every corner of the state.  But, most of the research and technological innovations that could benefit and grow the $103 billion industry are housed within companies and universities in more urban areas of the state.  

To address this gap in access, researchers at Wake Forest, along with nine other university, business, state agency, and research partners, have received a $1 million National Science Foundation (NSF) Regional Innovation Engines grant to develop a 42-county Agricultural Tech Innovation Corridor.

Program aims to ignite youth excitement in data science careers

Middle and high school students in the Piedmont region will have an opportunity to explore careers in the growing field of statistics and data science. The free event, known as Florence Nightingale Day, will take place on April 20 from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Manchester Hall at Wake Forest University.

Wake ‘N Shake dance marathon set for March 23

More than a thousand Wake Forest University students will put on their dancing shoes to raise funds for cancer research and support those impacted by the disease. The annual 12-hour-dance marathon known as Wake ‘N Shake will take place on Saturday, March 23 from noon to midnight in the University’s Sutton Center.

No one has been more closely associated with Wake Forest University or told its story more eloquently and passionately for the last half century than Professor of English and Provost Emeritus Edwin G. Wilson (’43). Wilson died on March 13, 2024, in Winston-Salem at the age of 101.
