A Wake Forest University practice field will soon be transformed into an outdoor art studio to create personalized study spaces for kids. It’s part of an education initiative called Developing Education through Student Knowledge or DESK. This year’s event will be held on Thursday, April 11 from 3-6 p.m. on Davis Field.

Middle and high school students in the Piedmont region will have an opportunity to explore careers in the growing field of statistics and data science. The free event, known as Florence Nightingale Day, will take place on April 20 from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Manchester Hall at Wake Forest University.

More than a thousand Wake Forest University students will put on their dancing shoes to raise funds for cancer research and support those impacted by the disease. The annual 12-hour-dance marathon known as Wake 'N Shake will take place on Saturday, March 23 from noon to midnight in the University’s Sutton Center.

Hearn Plaza at Wake Forest University will soon be filled with young children donning colorful Halloween costumes as part of Project Pumpkin. This year’s event will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 24 from 3-6 p.m. The student-led program will welcome more than 500 children to campus who attend Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools or afterschool programs at nonprofit organizations, including the Salvation Army and Latino Community Services. Children will visit dozens of activity booths organized by Wake Forest University student groups and departments. This year’s theme is Under The Sea.
