WFU rolls out Streakin’ Deacon at Homecoming

The Streakin' Deacon RV Wake Forest University will roll out a new vehicle for alumni engagement this weekend at Homecoming. The Streakin’ Deacon, a 42-foot-long Wake Forest-branded recreational vehicle, will officially kick off a statewide tour when 4,000 people visit campus Oct. 28-29.

Historic Homecoming

Ed Reynolds meets with Wake Forest students and staff. For Edward Reynolds ('64), coming home to Wake Forest meant a standing ovation from more than 500 people in Brendle Recital Hall and emotional reunions with many of the students, faculty and administrators who helped him when he enrolled as the first black undergraduate student at Wake Forest 50 years ago.

Going viral after 40 years

The Strings, a Wake Forest women's social society renowned in the late '60s and early '70s for its voices, will reunite at Homecoming on Saturday, Oct. 15, for the first time in 40 years. They will perform in the Green Room in Reynolda Hall at 11 a.m and record a YouTube video at 11:30 a.m. outside the Magnolia Room on Saturday.
