Italian Art Historian Lectures On Tiepolo Works

Terisio Pignatti, Reynolds Professor of Art at Wake Forest University, will present a talk on “The Tiepolo Centenary Exhibition in Venice” on Wednesday, Oct. 2.

Internationally known as an authority on Venetian art, Pignatti will begin his slide lecture at 7:30 p.m. in Scales Fine Arts Center, Room 102. A reception will follow.

Pignatti, visiting Winston-Salem from his native Italy, teaches Wake Forest students at the university’s study-abroad program in Venice. He is the author of more than 60 books and articles on Venetian art, including a recent two-volume study of Paolo Veronese’s art. His textbook, “The Art of the World,” is widely used by Italian students.

The art lecture is part of the Year of the Arts, a yearlong celebration of the arts at Wake Forest. Admission is free. For information, call 759-5310.
