Wake Forest to Host Poetry Reading

Reetika Vazirani, winner of the 1995 Barnard New Women Poets Prize, will read her poems at Wake Forest University Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m. in Scales Fine Arts Center, Room 102.

Author of a recently published volume of poetry entitled “White Elephants,” Vazirani teaches creative writing at the University of Virginia. Her poems have appeared in the Antioch Review, the Kenyon Review, Parnassas and other literary journals. She has received the Thomas J. Watson Fellowship and the Sewanee Writers’ Conference scholarship. Born in India and raised in Maryland, Vazirani is a graduate of Wellesley College.
