WFU to Sponsor Public Reading for Writers Harvest

As part of Writers Harvest, a nationwide literary benefit for hunger relief, professors and students from Wake Forest University and Salem College will read poetry and prose Thursday, Nov. 14, at Wake Forest.

The public reading will begin at 7 p.m. in Scales Fine Arts Center, Room 102 with an introduction by Wake Forestís poet-in-residence, Jane Mead.

Writers Harvest is a project of Share Our Strength, an organization that works to alleviate and prevent hunger and poverty in the United States and around the world. More than 500 bookstores, colleges and community centers are sponsoring readings.

A $10 donation, $5 for students, is suggested. Proceeds will go to local hunger relief agencies, including the Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina.
