Guest Quartet to Perform at WFU
The Emrys Ensemble, whose repertoire extends from Baroque to contemporary, will perform at Wake Forest University Sunday, Nov. 9, at 3 p.m. in Brendle Recital Hall.
Bach’s “Quartet in A minor” will open the concert. “A Dream Returned,” composed in 1996 by CheeKong Ho, will highlight the second half of the program.
The ensemble was formed in 1993 by Lisa Liske-Doorandish, violoncello, and Katharine Boyes, piano, while they were studying at the San Francisco Conservatory. Lisa Bazuzi, viola, and Chester Burke, flute, joined the group in 1996.
Liske-Doorandish and Bazuzi perform with the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra. Burke is principal flute with the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra and Boyes is currently a visiting instructor in music at Wake Forest.
