WFU Groups Plan Concert of Renaissance Music
With krummhorns, violas da gamba and other period instruments, the Wake Forest Collegium will present “Renaissance Music of France and the Low Countries” on Thursday, Nov. 13, in Brendle Recital Hall.
The 8 p.m. concert will feature instrumental and choral music from between 1450 and 1600. The instrumental ensemble, led by Stewart Carter, will perform works by Josquin, Brumel and others. The vocal ensemble, led by Brian Gorelick, will sing Guillaume Dufay’s “Kyrie” from his mass of the same title, as well as Josquin des Pres’s “Lament on the Death of Johan Okeghem.”
