Reynolda Trio to Give Debut Concert at WFU
The Reynolda Trio, a group of Wake Forest University musicians, will perform on campus at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, in Brendle Recital Hall.
Cellist Selina Carter, violinist Mark Hartman and pianist Marlene Hoirup will perform works by Feliz Mendelssohn-Bartholdy and Johannes Brahms in the trio’s debut concert.
Carter performs with the Wake Forest Consort and has taught early string instrument workshops throughout the country. She performs with the Winston-Salem Piedmont Triad Symphony and Carolina Baroque.
Hoirup teaches piano at Wake Forest. Trained at The Juilliard School, she also has taught at the Eastman School of Music and Salem College. Triad area audiences have heard her solo performances on WFDD (88.5 FM), Wake Forest’s National Public Radio member station.
In addition to teaching violin at Wake Forest, Hartman performs with the Winston-Salem Piedmont Triad and Salisbury symphonies. He has studied jazz with the Turtle Island String Quartet.
