WFU Senior To Explore Works of Spanish Composers

Wake Forest University senior Jamie Miyares will present a lecture-recital titled “Reflections of a Year in Spain” at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3.

She will perform and discuss works by two Spanish composers, Enrique Granados and Isaac AlbÈniz.

In addition to the musical performance, Miyares will demonstrate the Sevilliana, a traditional flamenco dance performed in Seville, Spain. Marta Prieto, a Wake Forest student from Seville, also will dance.

Miyares, a Spanish major and music minor, spent the 1996-97 academic year studying in Spain. Admission is free. Wake Forest’s Spanish Honor Society will sponsor a reception before the event beginning at 7 p.m. For information, call 758-5026.
