WFDD Names Brown Program Director

Paul Brown has been named program director at WFDD, the National Public Radio member station at Wake Forest University.

Brown has served as news director at WFDD (88.5 FM) since 1994, when he launched the station’s regional news department. He joined the classical music and news station in 1987 as production manager, and in 1989 designed new studios.

A regular contributor to NPR’s “Morning Edition” and “All Things Considered” news programs, Brown won the North Carolina Associated Press Broadcast Award for Enterprise Reporting in 1996. He was a WGBH/Corporation for Public Broadcasting Fellow in Public Affairs in 1993.

A musician and producer of traditional music compact discs, Brown also produced a radio program titled “Breaking Up Christmas: A Blue Ridge Mountain Holiday” distributed by NPR in 1996 and 1997.
