WFU Art Exhibit Showcases Local Talent

“Soul Music,” a musical sculpture made of steel and wood, and a series of self-portraits in charcoal are among the 72 student works on display in the Wake Forest University Fine Arts Gallery from April 14-May 18.

Etchings, paintings, woodcuts, prints and digital media works are also part of the show.

An opening reception will be held from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 14. Admission to the gallery and reception are free.

The student artwork has been judged by Wake Forest art faculty and cash prizes will be awarded at the opening reception. Also, ERL Originals Art Consultants and Gallery will select a student work and award a $300 purchase prize to the artist.

The gallery is located in Scales Fine Arts Center. Gallery hours are weekdays 10 a.m.-5 p.m., weekends 1-5 p.m. For information, call (336) 758-5585.
