CEO Will Discuss Human Resource Management at WFU

John Bowmer, chief executive officer of Adecco SA, will speak on “Managing Human Resources in a Global Economy” at Wake Forest University on Monday, Nov. 2.

The free and public event will be from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Benson University Center’s Pugh Auditorium. Bowmer’s discussion is part of the Critical Issues in Business and Accountancy speaker series sponsored by Wake Forest’s Calloway School of Business and Accountancy.

Bowmer became Adecco’s CEO in 1996 after a merger between Adia SA and ECCO SA. Adecco SA is a global leader in employment services with offices in 48 countries, including the United States, New Zealand, Brazil, Taiwan, Germany, Japan and the Czech Republic. Adecco is headquartered in Redwood City, Calif., and managed by a multi-international team with expertise in various global markets. The company supplies temporary and full-time clerical, industrial and technical associates for clients.

From 1993 until 1996, Bowmer was Adia’s CEO. Earlier, he was chief operating officer of Adia Worldwide and CEO of Adia Services Inc. in the United States.

Bowmer also worked for Adia’s operations in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore,

Thailand, New Zealand, Australia and Brazil. He began working for Adia as CEO of Jonathan Wren, a subsidiary based in London. Before his career with Adia, Bowmer worked in a variety of international marking and finance positions.
