Photographer Will Visit WFU to Discuss “Italian Journey”

News and commercial photographer Liana Miuccio will present and discuss “An Italian Journey,” a black-and-white portrait study, at Wake Forest University on Friday, Nov. 13.

“An Italian Journey” features 33 slides of Miuccio’s family members in Italy juxtaposed against those living and continuing family traditions in the United States.

The free and public event will begin at 7 p.m. in the Scales Fine Arts Center, Room 201.

Work by the Manhattan-based photographer has been featured in The New York Times, Village Voice, Newsday and various Italian publications. “An Italian Journey” was first exhibited at the Ellis Island Immigration Museum in 1997.

Miuccio’s lecture is sponsored by the Romance languages department as part of the Year of Globalization and Diversity, Wake Forest’s yearlong look at the world’s development into a more global community.
