WFU Dance Concert to Feature Guest Choreographers

WFU Dance ConcertThe 20-member Wake Forest University Dance Company will perform Nov. 19-21, at 8 p.m. in the Main Stage Theater of Scales Fine Arts Center.

The dance concert will feature a contemporary ballet choreographed by Carol Johnson, a faculty member at the Academy of Dance Arts, and excerpts from “The Nutcracker” restaged by Fanchon Cordell, a dance instructor at Wake Forest.

The program also will include a modern work by Diane Markham, a faculty member at the North Carolina School of the Arts, and Nina Lucas, Wake Forest’s director of dance. A jazz piece choreographed by Cynthia Penn-Henderson, a former dancer with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, will complete the dance concert.

Tickets are $10, $5 for students and senior citizens. They may be purchased at the box office at 336-758-5295. The box office is open weekdays, noon-5:30 p.m.
