WFDD’s Paul Brown Wins Silver Reel Award

Paul Brown, program director at radio station WFDD, won the National Federation of Community Broadcasters’ 1998 Silver Reel Award for Special Entertainment Program for his music documentary, “Breaking Up Christmas: A Blue Ridge Mountain Holiday.”

The program was distributed by National Public Radio and also made into a compact disc. His latest holiday special, “An Appalachian-Celtic Christmas,” is being distributed this year through Public Radio International.

WFDD (88.5 FM) is a NPR member station that broadcasts from Wake Forest University. Serving North Carolina and Virginia, WFDD broadcasts a blend of classical music, jazz, roots music, and NPR and local news programs.
