Cellist, Pianist to Present Sonatas at WFU

Wake Forest University’s music department will present a faculty recital of sonatas for cello and piano at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24.

Selina Carter, an adjunct faculty member at Wake Forest, will perform on cello and will be accompanied by Marlene Hoirup on piano.

The program, including sonatas by Bach, Barber and Chopin, will be held in Scales Fine Arts Center’s Brendle Recital Hall.

Carter has taught early string workshops throughout the United States and performs with the Winston-Salem Piedmont Triad Symphony, the Reynolda Trio and the Wake Forest Consort.

Hoirup has been a faculty member at the Eastman School of Music and Salem College. She performs with the Reynolda Trio and has also performed as a soloist in the United States and Germany.
