Choirs to perform music of Aaron Copland
The Wake Forest University Concert Choir and Collegium Vocal Ensemble will present a concert featuring the music of Aaron Copland on the 100th anniversary of the composer’s birth. The free concert begins at 8 p.m. April 27 in Brendle Recital Hall.
The Concert Choir will sing the five-part chorus, “The Promise of Living,” from Copland’s opera, “The Tender Land.”
The Collegium Vocal Ensemble will present Copland’s rhythmic dance chorus “Las Agachadas.”
The choir will also sing two selections by Leonard Bernstein, Copland’s most famous student. The Collegium will complete the program with Italian madrigals.
