Wake Forest makes provisions for demonstrators on night of debate

Wake Forest University officials have prepared a plan to accommodate for political demonstrators during the Oct. 11 presidential debate in Wait Chapel.

Anyone wishing to publicly display their views on the Wake Forest campus during the presidential debate must apply for a public gathering permit through the University Police department. All individuals permitted to demonstrate on campus will have a specific area designated for this purpose.

Applications for the permit may be obtained by calling Ken Overholt, assistant chief of University Police, at 336-758-5057, or by writing the Wake Forest University Police Department, P.O. Box 7686, Winston-Salem, NC 27109.

All applications must completed and returned to Wake Forest University Police by Oct. 1. Applicants will be notified if their application has been approved. Demonstrators will receive information on parking and campus access upon approval.
