Sponsors help Wake Forest University bring presidential debate to Winston-Salem
Nine sponsors have contributed their support to Wake Forest University for its Oct. 11 presidential debate in Wait Chapel.
Wake Forest has named Enterasys Networks, the official network provider of the university, as the lead sponsor for the debate. The other sponsors are US Airways, Wachovia Corporation, the Winston-Salem Journal, BellSouth, Duke Energy, !dealliance Inc. and TITAN Technology Partners.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles D. Peebler Jr. of New York, N.Y., are also sponsors of the event. They are members of Wake Forest’s Parents’ Council.
“Before we made our proposal to the Commission on Presidential Debates, we consulted with several corporate and community leaders who were very encouraging about potential financial support,” said Sandra Boyette, vice president for university advancement. “We are extremely grateful to this generous group of sponsors who are making an extraordinary event possible for our students, our community and the nation.”
US Airways and Wachovia Corporation also sponsored the 1988 presidential debate at Wake Forest.
