Fall choral concert at Wake Forest to feature ‘Requiem’
The public is invited to attend the annual Fall Choral Concert in Brendle Recital Hall on Oct. 26 at 8 p.m. This year’s theme is “Darkness and Light.”
A highlight of the program will be the new Wake Forest Chorale’s performance of the lyric “Requiem” by Gabriel Faure. Faculty, staff, alumni, graduate students and other singers from the Triad make up this new group organized by Brian Gorelick, director of choral ensembles at Wake Forest. The Chorale will be accompanied by the Concert Choir and the University Orchestra during this concert.
Pieces will include Stephen Paulus’s “Pilgrim’s Hymn,” and “Rejoice in the Lamb” by Benjamin Britten. The Choral Union also will perform music by Virgil Thompson, William Byrd, William Walton and John Rutter.
The concert is free. For more information call 336-758-5026.
