WFU president to lead discussion on ethics and honor March 22

Wake Forest University President Thomas K. Hearn Jr. will lead a discussion on moral philosophy with James Rachels, a professor of philosophy at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, on March 22 at 4 p.m.

The event is part of Wake Forest’s Year of Ethics and Honor and is free and open to the public. It will be held in Benson University Center, Room 401 A.

Hearn and Rachels will address a series of questions submitted in advance by 20 Wake Forest students chosen by the university’s Student Life office. Topics range from alcohol use to academic work, and from the university honor system to ethics in the workplace.

Rachels has written several books including, “Created from Animals: The Moral Implications of Darwinism,” “The Elements of Moral Philosophy” and “The Right Thing to Do: Basic Readings in Moral Philosophy.” For more information call 336-758-4882.
