Poets featured in WFU’s Writers Reading Series
Poets Edward Haworth Hoeppner and Linda Gregg will read from their works as part of Wake Forest University’s Writers Reading Series.
Hoeppner, professor of English at Oakland University, will read at 8 p.m. on March 29 in Tribble Hall, Room A108. New Issues Press published his first book of poems, “Rain Through High Windows,” in 2000. Hoeppner’s poems have also been published in literary magazines, including The North American Review, the Ohio Review and Shenandoah.
Gregg, author of “Things and Flesh” and four other books of poetry, will read at 8 p.m. on April 26 in Tribble Hall, Room A108. Nobel laureate Czeslaw Milosz calls her “one of the best American poets.” She has received grants from the Whiting, Lannan and Guggenheim foundations.
On May 2, the Writers Reading Series will conclude with an open microphone event at 8 p.m. in Tribble Hall, Room A108. Community members are invited to read their original poetry. Refreshments will be served.
All readings are free and open to the public, and will be followed by a booksigning and a reception. For more information, visit the Web site at http://english.tribble.wfu.edu/readings or call 336-758-5382.
