WFU senior to present viola de gamba concert
Bradshaw Lentz will perform his senior recital on viola da gamba at 3 p.m. April 29 in Brendle Recital Hall at Wake Forest University.
Lentz will begin the concert with Bach’s “Sonata in G Major for Viola da Gamba and Harpsichord.” He will then perform “Pieces de viole, troisiËme livre” by Marin Marais. After an intermission, the program will feature various selections from 16th century composers. The concert will conclude with Telemann’s “Trio Sonata in F Major for Recorder, Viola da Gamba and Continuo.”
Lentz is a student of Selina Carter, adjunct instructor of music at Wake Forest. He will be accompanied by Carter on viola da gamba; Marlene Hoirup, adjunct instructor of music, on harpsichord; Stewart Carter, professor of music, on recorder; and by the Collegium Musicum Viol Consort.
