WFU to present holiday choral concert
Wake Forest University’s annual holiday choral concert will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, in Brendle Recital Hall.
Directed by Brian Gorelick, three Wake Forest choirs will present a musical hour of carols and seasonal selections.
The Wake Forest Concert Choir and the Wake Forest Chorale will sing the featured selection, Bach’s “Magnificat in D Major.” The Wake Forest Orchestra will accompany the vocalists.
The Collegium Vocal Ensemble, a Wake Forest group devoted to the performance of early music, will also sing.
The program will include an arrangement of “Of the Father’s Love Begotten,” and Morten Lauridsen’s “O Magnum Mysterium.” The choirs will also sing traditional Christmas carols including “In the Bleak Midwinter,” “I Saw Three Ships,” and “My Dancing Day.”
