Free performance of ‘Marx in Soho’ to be held Saturday at WFU
Wake Forest University will host a free performance of “Marx in Soho” March 2 at 7 p.m in the MainStage Theatre inside Scales Fine Arts Center.
“Marx in Soho” was written by Howard Zinn, author of “A People’s History of the United States.” Brian Jones stars in this touring production that provides glimpses into Karl Marx’s personal life.
In the play, the late Marx tries to clear his name. The audience is introduced to his wife, Jenny, and their children as he comments on his work and explains why his theories are relevant in the modern world.
The performance is sponsored by the South End Press and International Socialist Review. University sponsors are the Center for International Studies, theater department, the Office of the Dean of the College and the Office of Student Life.
