Annual flute fest at WFU
Wake Forest University will present the 2002 Flute Fest on Nov. 10 at 3 p.m. in Brendle Recital Hall of the Scales Fine Arts Center.
Wake Forest flute students of Kathryn Levy, the Wake Forest Flute Choir and the Silver Wind Flute Choir of Winston-Salem will perform. Levy is a lecturer in the music department at Wake Forest.
The students will perform “Piece Facile” by Carl Maria von Weber, “Deux Interludes” by Jacques Ibert, “Lookout!” by Robert Dick, and “Symphony No. 4” by William Boyce.
The Silver Wind Flute Choir will perform Bach’s “Toccata,” “Valse Triste” by Jean Sibelius, “Adagio and Scherzo” by Adolphe Wouters, and Haydn’s “Finale from String Quartet, Op 76, No. 4.”
The concert will end with an opportunity for flutists of all ages and abilities to perform together on the Brendle Recital Hall stage. This year the closing piece will be the “Canon in D” by Pachelbel.
