Advisory: Campus community to discuss potential war with Iraq

Wake Forest University faculty members have organized a campus discussion on potential war with Iraq.

The discussion—open to Wake Forest faculty, students and staff—will begin at 4 p.m. Oct. 29 at Shorty’s on the lower level of Benson University Center. It is not open to the public.

“My hope is to raise interest in discussing this issue,” said Will Fleeson, an
associate professor of psychology who organized the informal event with Cynthia Gendrich, assistant professor of theatre. They have gathered faculty from various departments including political science and sociology to contribute to the discussion.

“An academic institution is the place in which informed discussions of national and international import should take place,” said Angela Hattery, an assistant professor of sociology who will participate in the discussion.

Media are invited to attend the discussion. For more information or to arrange to talk with Fleeson or Gendrich, contact the News Service.
