Non-traditional casting to be held for Mainstage Theatre production at WFU

Vieux CarréAuditions for Tennessee Williams’ “Vieux Carré,” the next University Theatre MainStage production, will be held Dec. 2 from 4 – 6 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. and on Dec. 3 from 3 – 5 p.m. in the MainStage Theatre of the Scales Fine Arts Center. Callbacks will be held Dec. 3 from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. in the theatre.

Roles are available for five women and six men. Wake Forest University Theatre encourages non-traditional casting and all members of the Wake Forest community are encouraged to audition.

The production will be directed by Sharon Andrews, associate professor of theatre. Performances will be held Feb. 19 – Feb. 22 at 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 23 at 2 p.m. in the MainStage Theatre.

“Vieux Carré” is loosely based on the journals Tennessee Williams kept of his 1938-1939 sojourn in the New Orleans French Quarter.
