Auditions to be held for WFU’s mainstage theatre

Auditions for Wake Forest University Theatre’s spring MainStage production of “The Servant of Two Masters” will be held Jan. 25. The theatre will present the Carlo Goldoni play in April.

Auditions will begin at 10 a.m. and last until 3 p.m., with an hour-long break at noon, in the MainStage Theatre of the Scales Fine Arts Center. Callbacks will be held at 3:30 p.m. on the same day in the MainStage.

Sign-ups for the 25-minute auditions will begin Jan. 21 outside the theatre box office in the lower lobby of the Scales Fine Arts Center. Performances will be held April 4, April 5 and April 9 through April 12 at 7:30 p.m. and April 13 at 2 p.m. in the MainStage Theatre.

Roles are available for three or more women and 11 men. The theatre encourages non-traditional casting and all members of the Wake Forest community are encouraged to audition.

James Dodding, adjunct professor of theatre, will direct the 18th century comedy of an unemployed servant who lands two jobs in the same day.

Scripts and audition forms are available in the theatre office. If extenuating circumstances exist, other audition arrangements can be made by calling Dodding in advance at 336-758-3940. For more information, call 336-758-5294 or visit www.wfu.edu/theatre.
