Jazz showcase to be presented at WFU
Wake Forest University will host a jazz showcase April 21 at 8 p.m. in Brendle Recital Hall of the Scales Fine Arts Center. The event is free and open to the public.
The showcase will feature the University Jazz Ensemble conducted by Patrick Tucker and the Jazz Chamber Group from the studio of Matthew Kendrick. Tucker and Kendrick are both adjunct faculty in the Wake Forest music department.
The groups will perform selections from Denis DiBlasio, Cole Porter, Benny Golson, Mike Tomaro and others. Songs will include “Badda Bing, Badda Bang,” “Begin the Beguine,” “Killer Joe” and “Smoke and Mirrors.”
