WFU orchestra to perform final concert of the season
The Wake Forest University Orchestra will perform its final concert of the season April 30 at 8 p.m. in the Scales Fine Arts Center’s Brendle Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
The orchestra will perform pieces from different European cultural styles including Bela Bartok’s “Hungarian Pictures,” Gioacchino Rossini’s overture to “The Thieving Magpie” and Manuel de Falla’s “Three-Cornered Hat Suite.”
Wake Forest’s orchestra director David Hagy will conduct the concert.
In addition, Wake Forest senior Matthew Webb will conduct the orchestra and an ensemble choir in the first movement of Johannes Brahms’ “German Requiem.”
