WFU deputy chief of police receives award
Kenneth Overholt, deputy chief of police at Wake Forest University, was recently awarded the Law Enforcement Medal from the Sons of the American Revolution.
Overholt began his career as a deputy sheriff in Colorado.
Throughout his distinguished career, he has served with two state bureaus of investigation, worked as an insurance investigator, served with the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Department and worked with the North Carolina Department of Crime Control and Public Safety. He also served as the planning director of the Governor’s Crime Commission until 1994, when he became deputy chief at Wake Forest.
