WFU freshmen have three off-campus parking options

This academic year, all Wake Forest University freshmen are assigned to park in satellite parking located at three specific locations adjacent to the Reynolda Campus.

The primary parking option for freshmen is the Student Drive Parking Lot off of Polo Road; however, additional parking for freshmen students is available in First Assembly of God Church’s Parking Lot A, located on the west side of Long Drive, and in the Reynolda Village Satellite Parking Lot. Freshmen are permitted to park on campus between 5 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. Monday through Friday and on weekends.

Regina Lawson, chief of University Police, said the university has permission to use First Assembly’s Lot A on an as-needed basis through the fall semester of the 2004-2005 academic year. The university plans to start work in the next month on an addition to the Student Drive Parking Lot that will bring the total number of available spaces to more than 500. The addition will be built on the site of the former javelin field, beside the existing Student Drive lot.

Shuttle service from all satellite parking lots is provided daily when school is in session from dark until 3 a.m.

Decals for freshmen will be mailed to campus post office boxes by Sept. 1. Students who do not receive decals by Aug. 30 should go to the Parking Management office in the Facilities Management building between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
