Midnight Oct. 30 marks the hour when Wake Forest University’s orchestra will begin its annual Halloween Concert at Brendle Recital Hall in Scales Fine Arts Center.
During this unpredictable musical-theater event that begins with Bach’s famous “Toccata and Fugue in D Minor,” no one knows what will actually happen during the concert — not even the musicians. Throughout the concert, the orchestra plays excerpts from music they will perform in future concerts. Orchestra members, dressed in Halloween costumes, shock, scare and amuse both the audience and each other. Special guests interrupt the performance, making the evening exciting, spooky and fun, and all of this is kept secret until the performance.
The midnight concert is open to the public. Tickets are free, but they must be reserved. For more information or to reserve tickets, call the Wake Forest music department at 336-758-5364.
