WFU celebrates annual Christmas Lovefeast
Wake Forest University will hold its 39th annual Christmas Lovefeast and Candlelight Service at 8 p.m. Dec. 5 in Wait Chapel. The community is invited and admission is free.
Wake Forest Chaplain Tim Auman will conduct the service and be assisted by Craig Atwood, theologian in residence at Home Moravian Church. It will include music from Wake Forest’s concert choir, handbell choir and flute choir. During the service, the congregation will be invited to join in singing carols. The Messiah Moravian Church Band and carilloneur Matthew Phillips, a Wake Forest graduate, will also perform.
Each participate will receive a beeswax candle to be lit at the end of the service, and more than 50 Wake Forest students and faculty will serve coffee and Moravian buns. University Plaza (Quad) will be decorated with luminaries, placed by members of Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity.
Monetary contributions can be made for Prodigals Community, Samaritan Ministries or the Chaplain’s Emergency Fund.
