WFU invites community to attend free holiday events
Wake Forest University will host several free holiday events throughout the holiday season. The community is invited to attend.
“Advent Festival of Lessons and Carols”
Nov. 30, 7 p.m. Wait Chapel.
Features scripture readings, musical performances and congregational hymns to celebrate the beginning of the Advent season.
University Orchestra Concert
Dec. 1, 8 p.m. Brendle Recital Hall.
Includes music from Stravinsky, William Grant Still and Alan Hovhaness, with a feature performance of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5.
“Lighting of the Quad”
Dec 2, 9:30 p.m. University Plaza (Quad).
Features music, singing, speakers and refreshments. Students decorate the plaza with greenery, lights and a live evergreen tree. Luminaries will be for sale to line the Quad during exams.
Holiday Choral Concert
Dec. 3, 8 p.m. Brendle Recital Hall, Scales Fine Arts Center.
Features the ensembles of the Wake Forest Choral Department. Includes musical performances and carol singing for both the choirs and audience.
Christmas Candlelight Lovefeast
Dec. 5, 8 p.m. Wait Chapel.
Popular event featuring a traditional Moravian lovefeast and candlelight service. Luminaries encircle University Plaza.
