“Inner Reflections”

Paintings, sculptures, photographs, installations and digital media will be among the nearly 80 student works on display in Wake Forest University’s Annual Student Art Exhibition at the Charlotte and Philip Hanes Art Gallery April 21 – May 16.

An opening reception for the juried exhibition will be held April 21 at 4 p.m. Admission to the gallery and the reception is free.

Senior Lindsay Ryerse’s photograph “Inner Reflections” is featured on the exhibition announcement card.

Wake Forest art faculty, who will judge all the artwork, will award $400 in cash prizes as well as purchase awards during the reception. The purchase awards are part of a program in which a number of works are selected and purchased by the university to become part of the university’s permanent art collection.

In addition, the Mezzanine Gallery will feature senior honors exhibitions by five graduating art majors. The work of one student will be displayed each week, Monday through Friday, from April 3 through May 7.

The gallery is located in Scales Fine Arts Center. Gallery hours are weekdays 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.; weekends 1 p.m.-5 p.m. For more information, including a schedule of honors exhibition openings, call (336) 758-5585.
