WFU spring dance concert 2005 features, jazz, hip-hop, and modern dance
The Wake Forest University Dance Company will present its annual spring dance concert at 7:30 p.m. April 21-23 and at 2 p.m. April 24. All performances will be held in the MainStage Theatre of Scales Fine Arts Center.
Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students, senior citizens and children. Advance tickets will be available beginning April 11.
The concert will feature 35 Wake Forest Dance Company members performing dances ranging in styles from jazz that incorporates edgy hip-hop moves to light-hearted lyrical modern dance. All dances have been choreographed by 16 student choreographers, except a tango choreographed by Roger Simpson, a Wake Forest dance faculty member.
During the program, the dancers will perform to a variety of music from artists including Janet Jackson, Ray Charles, Apocalyptica, Louis Armstrong and Frederic Chopin.
Tickets may be purchased at the door or by calling the Wake Forest Theatre Box Office at 336-758-5295 between noon and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
