The Wake Forest University Theatre Department will present “notes on desire,” a performance art concert at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 13-14 in the Ring Theatre of Scales Fine Arts Center. A question-and-answer session will follow the Jan. 13 performance. Admission is free.
Written by Lynn Book, a visiting associate professor of theatre at Wake Forest, “notes on desire” is a hybrid composition for voice, text and electronics featuring both jazz and operatic singing.
Guest artists will include Jacqui Carrasco, associate professor of music, on violin; Joe Morgan on electronics; and Mark Linga, education director at SECCA, on accordion.
Lynn Book is an award-winning artist who recently relocated to Winston-Salem from New York City, where she originated “notes on desire.”
