Junior Calli Nguyen, whose parents were born in South Vietnam, is among 14 students spending three weeks in Vietnam studying the country's political and economic systems. For most of today’s college students, the Vietnam War is ancient history. But for junior Calli Nguyen and senior Kyle Bridges, the Vietnam War left a lasting imprint on the families.

Atala continues pioneering cell research

Since becoming the first to build a functioning organ from scratch, Dr. Anthony Atala, director of Wake Forest’s Institute for Regenerative Medicine, has moved on to cobbling up bones, heart valves, muscles, and some 20 other body parts.
