Media Advisory: Traffic advisory for Aug. 21: Wake Forest University move-in day

Wake Forest will welcome the class of 2018 on Thursday, Aug. 21. Members of the media are invited to attend new student move-in, which begins at 8 a.m. (Story ideas.)

Media Parking:
Media must enter campus through the Reynolda Road entrance. Reserved parking for television trucks will be located between Carswell and Tribble Halls. Because of heavy traffic, all members of the media are encouraged to allow plenty of time to park and set up. Here’s a link to a campus map.

Traffic:
Traffic around the Reynolda Campus is expected to be heavy throughout the day and will begin around 7 a.m. as families arrive for move-in. Due to the increased traffic, faculty and staff seeking to park on campus are encouraged to arrive on campus early.

The University will continue to run the Gray Line shuttle that normally operates between University Corporate Center and campus on Thursday, Aug. 21.

Additionally, the University will welcome back its returning students on Saturday, Aug. 23 and Sunday, Aug. 24. Parking in Hearn Plaza lots (Lots A, B, C, M, N, P) will not be available as those will be entirely reserved for move-in. Additionally, faculty and staff are asked to avoid Lots Q, R and Z to allow returning students a smooth move-in.
