Media Advisory: U.S. News ranks Wake Forest among top 30 national universities
U.S. News and World Report’s 2015 Best Colleges guide ranked Wake Forest University 27th among 280 national universities.
Wake Forest has been ranked in the top 30 in the national universities category for 19 consecutive years. The University has been ranked in the top 25 five times.
Last year, Wake Forest was in a five-way tie for 23rd in its overall ranking with Carnegie Mellon University, the University of California-Los Angeles, the University of Southern California and the University of Virginia. This year, Wake Forest tied with Tufts University.
“We are proud of the educational experience that we offer at Wake Forest,” said Wake Forest University President Nathan O. Hatch. “As we focus on preparing individuals to lead lives that matter, we are pleased to be recognized among the top national universities for the exceptional quality of our institution.”
The guide also ranked Wake Forest 35th on its “Great Schools, Great Prices” list of Best Value Schools. This year’s rankings again highlighted Wake Forest’s 11 to 1 student/faculty ratio as well as small class size. Fifty-seven percent of undergraduate classes at Wake Forest have fewer than 20 students and only one percent of Wake Forest’s classes have more than 50 students, the lowest of any top 30 school.
For the fifth year, U.S. News asked high school counselors to rank the top colleges and universities and Wake Forest was rated 4.4 on a five-point scale.
The Wake Forest School of Business undergraduate program was ranked 34th in the nation among the accredited business schools considered. In the U.S. News and World Report specialty ranking, the School ranked 23rd*, securing its top 25 position in the Accounting category for the seventh consecutive year.
