Traffic detours for Wake Forest Commencement

Wake Forest University will be closed to through traffic for its commencement ceremony on Monday, May 15, from 5:30 a.m. until the ceremony ends at around 1 p.m. Kathy Killian Noe, author, community builder and founder of Recovery Café, will deliver the commencement address.

Commencement parking passes and commencement tickets are required to enter campus and attend the event, which begins at 9 a.m. Passes and tickets are reserved for graduates and their guests. Those without commencement parking passes will not be allowed to enter campus. 

Traffic near the University’s entrances on Reynolda Road, Polo Road and University Parkway is likely to be heavy. Anyone not attending the commencement ceremony should plan to take alternate routes around campus.

Commencement will take place on Hearn Plaza rain or shine. In case of hazardous weather, the commencement ceremony will be moved to Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum (2825 University Parkway) and begin at 9:30 a.m. Media will be notified if the hazardous weather plan is put into effect. More information regarding media arrangements for the inclement weather plan will be distributed as needed.
