WFU Environmental Justice Summit brings key issues to forefront

Wake Forest University is preparing to welcome several national, state and local experts to campus for the 2024 Mellon Environmental and Epistemic Justice Summit. The full-day program will take place on April 24 from 9 a.m.-6:30 p.m. at the Broyhill Auditorium in Farrell Hall. The free event is open to the public. The goal of the program is to bring various perspectives together for a deeper understanding of environmental issues facing underrepresented communities, share ideas, help find solutions and inspire grassroots efforts.


Wake Forest Students Decorate Desks for Children

A Wake Forest University practice field will soon be transformed into an outdoor art studio to create personalized study spaces for kids. It’s part of an education initiative called Developing Education through Student Knowledge or DESK. This year’s event will be held on Thursday, April 11 from 3-6 p.m. on Davis Field.

Program aims to ignite youth excitement in data science careers

Middle and high school students in the Piedmont region will have an opportunity to explore careers in the growing field of statistics and data science. The free event, known as Florence Nightingale Day, will take place on April 20 from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Manchester Hall at Wake Forest University.

Wake 'N Shake dance marathon set for March 23

More than a thousand Wake Forest University students will put on their dancing shoes to raise funds for cancer research and support those impacted by the disease. The annual 12-hour-dance marathon known as Wake 'N Shake will take place on Saturday, March 23 from noon to midnight in the University’s Sutton Center.
