Wake Forest University police are investigating a sexual assault that occurred early Saturday morning, Oct. 5, in a university residence hall.
A female Wake Forest student was assaulted by an unidentified man when she returned alone to her room at 3:30 a.m., according to a Wake Forest investigator. The woman reported the incident to university police after the assailant fled. Afterward, she was treated and released at a Winston-Salem hospital.
